We are very pleased to present DARK STAR, a two person exhibition with David Malek and Blair Thurman.

This exhibition represents a kind of blind collaboration, a contemporary cadavre exquis. This project was initiated at dinner in Paris between the two artists in October 2012.

The conversation turned to strange science fiction films and Blair Thurman asked David Malek if he had seen Dark Star, the first John Carpenter movie from 1974. Thurman suggested producing a collaborative exhibition based on the movie. Both would watch it and produce specific works inspired by the film. Working independently, they wouldn’t see each other’s work until the pieces were brought together at the gallery in Geneva.
